The art of practicing Yoga

Life is made of choices.

If we want to feel good in our skin and live a full life, we must make choices that make us feel good.

As a way of celebrating our presence at Wanderlust this year, we challenged Inês Roseta, a true Captain of her life, to write a testimonial about the importance of Yoga.

Inês is an Ashtanga Yoga and Yoga Therapy Meditation Teacher, specializing in functional anatomy, so she knows what she's talking about.

We hope this testimony motivates many people to try or develop this ancient technique:

Yoga and Meditation are a powerful tool in combating anxiety.

Thousands of people suffer from anguish, sadness and stress, these are the diseases of our century and they are increasingly widespread.

Yoga is a valuable practice that develops many psychic qualities such as attention, concentration and introspection.

A practice that calms the fluctuations of the mind through control of the body.

It teaches us to find balance in everything in life, to cultivate positive and happy thoughts, it teaches us how to master suffering, and it develops in us a capacity that we all have, but that we have lost somewhere, in this unbridled way of modern life… The body’s capacity for self-recovery, and self-healing.

Healing is learning how we can use our ability to exchange ignorance for wisdom, anxiety for tranquility, fatigue for energy, war for peace, lies for truth, illness for health.

There is nothing that happens in the mind that the body does not manifest, and there is nothing that happens in the body that the mind does not feel, because we are not separate, we are unity.

The greatest invitation of yoga and meditation is to bring us to the present moment.

Happiness exists and is complete “in” this now, “in” this every moment that we all have access to.

But this present moment constantly slips through our fingers, we waste this “time” imagining and projecting a future that never arrives; with past experiences that will never be repeated.

In this non-experience of the present moment, we open space for disappointment, sadness, anxiety and in more serious cases, depression.

Yoga and meditation, through the awareness we gain of our body and our breathing, help us live in the now. help us to realize that it is not possible to control nature, or the universe, it is not possible to control other human beings around us, and that the only thing we can try to control is ourselves, and what we feel within our unity, body, mind and heart.

These are practices that prepare our hearts to receive with humility, compassion and love everything that comes to us.

As with everything, it takes time, patience, dedication and perseverance.

The good news is that it happens!

Combine our drinks with your Yoga experience and feel the freshness it provides. Inês' favorite flavors are pineapple and peach. Take advantage of the tip and try what is good and good for you.
