MOCKTAIL – The healthy alternative for your summer
Summer has arrived! And how good it feels to have a cold drink and that beautiful cocktail to share on Instagram. Healthy, instagrammable, moisturizing and alcohol free? Yes it is possible – try a Mocktail.
What is a Mocktail?
A mocktail is a cocktail, but without alcohol, which makes it healthier! Alcohol, in addition to containing 7 calories per gram, is metabolized in the liver as a xenobiotic – that is, as a foreign product in the body. Mocktails may then be the healthier alternative you are looking for!
What to add to my mocktail?
There are thousands of combinations and options. Discover the suggestions of our Nutritionist Mafalda Rodrigues de Almeida to get the best and healthiest Mocktail.
Fruit: fruit is always a good option and the variety to choose from is wide, citrus fruits (lemon, lime, orange) or red fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries).
GUTsy Captain Kombucha: Kombucha can be used to replace the juices that are normally part of mocktails, but which are not very interesting because they are high in sugar. Kombucha, in addition to having a very low sugar content, adds probiotics to the mocktail that help with intestinal health. If you prefer, you can also use Kombucha ZERO, which has no sugars, or even Water Kefir.
Ginger: Ginger is a root with a number of anti-inflammatory properties, which can give the mocktail a zesty and fresh edge.
Mint: Mint has antiseptic, digestive and aromatic medicinal properties.
